DOCTRINE

Statement of Faith

      Trinity:
We believe that there is one God in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit (I John 5:7; Matthew 3:16-17).

We believe that God created the heavens and the earth in six literal days, resting on the seventh, and that the theory of evolution is false (Genesis 1:1).

We believe that the absolute, sole, authoritative rule for faith and practice is the perfect, preserved Word of God, which for English speaking people, is the 1611 King James Bible (Psalm 12: 6-7; Matthew 24:35).

We believe in the manifestation of God in the flesh, in the person of Jesus Christ, who is both the Son of God and the Son of man (I Timothy 3:16). We believe that he live a perfect and sinless life on this earth (Hebrews 4:15; I Peter 2:22)

We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ (Luke 1:35)

We believe in the literal, bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ from the grave to ascend into heaven and be seated at the right hand of God (I Corinthians 15:3-20).

We believe in the literal, bodily return of the Lord Jesus Christ to this earth to reign for 1,000 years (Revelation 19:11-16; 20:4-6; Acts 1:11).

We believe in the necessity for the blood atonement of Jesus Christ for sin, the voluntary substitution of Himself in our place, when He bore our sins in His own body on the cross (Hebrews 9:22; Colossians 1:14; Ephesians 1:7)

We believe in salvation by grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on Calvary, as He was buried and rose from the dead, plus nothing and minus nothing (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5). Therefore, we do not believe that good works are necessary for salvation, although once a person is saved, he/she should be careful to maintain good works (Titus 3:8). ****

We believe in the eternal security of the believer as part of the body of the Lord Jesus Christ (John 10:28; Ephesians 5:30)

We believe that baptism by the Holy Ghost into the body of Christ occurs at salvation (I Corinthians 12:13) and that there is no verse in the Bible that commands believers must speak in tongues or perform miracles in order to prove that they are baptized by the Holy Ghost or filled with the Spirit.

We believe that the Church, which is the body of CHrist, is a spiritual organism made up of all born-again Christians (Ephesians 1:22-23, Colossians 1:18, 24) The Lord Jesus Christ is the foundation and the head of the Church and the head of every true local church.

We believe that baptism and the Lord's Supper constitute the only two scriptural ordinances for the church, but neither has any saving power (I Corinthians 11:23-26; Matthew 28:19). We believe that water baptism for the regenerated believer is by immersion in water in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

We believe in a literal devil called Satan, who was originally the anointed cherub, but is now the god of this world. He is destined to judgment in the lake of fire, a place prepared for him and his angels (Isaish 14:12; Ezekiel 28:14-17; Revelation 12:9,10; 20:1-3, 10)
